About Dr. Gaurav Shyam Desai

Dr. Gaurav Shyam Desai is an internationally trained, award-winning Consultant Gynecologist and pioneering Pelvic Surgeon who stands at the forefront of minimally invasive and robotic gynecological interventions in Mumbai.

Following his foundational medical training at K.J. Somaiya Medical College and the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, he completed his MS in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, earning dual gold medals for the highest grades in his specialty and overall Master of Surgery examinations.

Dr. Desai significantly expanded his research capabilities by serving as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Massachusetts General Hospital (Harvard Medical School) and the University of California San Francisco (UCSF).

To bring global standards of surgical care to India, Dr. Desai completed highly specialized clinical fellowships in Gynaecological Oncosurgery and Robotic Surgery at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, followed by advanced training in complex gynaecological surgery at the prestigious IRCCS Sacro Cuore Don Calabria in Negrar and Clinical Malzoni in Italy.

Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor at Seth GS Medical College & KEM Hospital, acts as an advanced surgical faculty member at IMMAST Mumbai, and chairs major committees for the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI).
