About Dr. Vivek Sukumar

Dr. Vivek Sukumar is a Consultant Surgical Oncologist specializing in Gastrointestinal Oncology, Peritoneal Malignancies, and Minimally Invasive Cancer Surgery. Trained at the world-renowned Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, he pursued advanced fellowship training in GI and Peritoneal Surface Oncology. His practice encompasses complex sphincter-saving rectal procedures, hepatobiliary resections, advanced laparoscopic cancer surgeries, and Cytoreductive Surgery with Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (CRS & HIPEC). Dr. Sukumar balances radical surgical resections with functional preservation to maximize patient survival and quality of life. An active researcher, he has authored over 30 PubMed-indexed publications and serves as a mentor for surgical oncology trainees.
